Machinist

Machinists set up and operate precision metal cutting and grinding machines such as lathes, milling machines, drills, and grinders to make and repair products made from metals, non-ferrous materials (materials that do not contain iron) and new alloys. (Optional Certification)

Lather (Interior Systems Mechanic)

Lathers (Interior Systems Mechanics) install a wide variety of wall and ceiling systems and exterior finishes, bringing various buildings to a completed state. (Optional Certification)

Ironworker

Ironworkers fabricate, construct, and join scaffolding, structural steel buildings, bridges, ornamental ironwork, and pre-cast structures. Subcategories within this trade include metal building systems erector, structural/ornamental and reinforcing ironworker. (Compulsory Certification)

Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)

Industrial mechanics (millwrights) install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in sites such as factories, production plants and recreational facilities. (Optional Certification)

Field Heat Treatment Technician

Field heat treatment technicians set up and perform controlled heat treating to offset the high temperature effects of welding. (Designated Occupation)

Cathodic Protection Technician

Cathodic protection is a technique used to control corrosion of metal surfaces in structures that are in contact with conductive electrolyte including buildings, pipelines, and bridges. Cathodic protection technicians work on a variety of projects, installing, commissioning, monitoring, evaluating, maintaining, repairing, and decommissioning cathodic protection systems.
