This award recognizes the outstanding mentors and promising student interns who exemplify professionalism, dedication to safety, and engagement to learning and achieving in one of CAREERS’ pathways. Three students and three mentors will be chosen in this category. Student winners receive a $500 scholarship to continue their training.

The Hilton Mierau Award of Excellence in Off-campus Learning recognizes an outstanding Off-campus Coordinator that utilizes CAREERS for off-campus success. They inspire students to explore careers, while demonstrating innovation in promoting programs and sharing their vast knowledge of the industries involved in off-campus programming. The recipient can award a $500 scholarship to a deserving student at their school.
The John Aldred Ambassadorship Award of Excellence recognizes an individual who demonstrates outstanding advocacy for skilled trades education and ambassadorship to the development of youth as skilled trade apprentices in Alberta strengthening the mission and goals of CAREERS.
The Eric P. Newell Award of Excellence was first introduced in 2006. This award is presented to a dedicated individual who exemplifies outstanding leadership, championship and support of the CAREERS vision and mission – enabling youth on their path to a rewarding career. This award is the highest achievement in the CAREERS organization. It requires the demonstration of extraordinary and commendable leadership and service.
The James Carter Indigenous Leader Award recognizes an Indigenous-identifying individual connected to CAREERS whose outstanding efforts have made a significant impact on Indigenous youth and their communities. The recipient is a true leader who has gone above and beyond to:
