CAREERS connects youth to employers for hands-on experience and awareness of in-demand industry occupations.
The Central Alberta CO-OP Apprenticeship Program supports youth under the age of 21 to build workplace skills through apprenticeship. The CO-OP model allows apprentices to get the hours needed to complete their technical training.
The program will begin with positions available in plumbing, steamfitter/pipefitter, electrical, and refrigeration and air conditioning(HVAC).
APPLICANTS ARE:
Recently graduated from high school and under the age of 21.
Looking for a hands-on career in central Alberta.
Certified in CSTS2020 Fundamentals.
A valid class 5 driver with reliable transportation.
Able to pass employer on-boarding requirements.
Experience in skilled trades and/or construction would be an asset.
CO-OP INTERNSHIPS ARE:
Paid apprenticeship positions with multiple central Alberta employers.
Aligned with AIT guidelines.
Learning opportunities in diverse environments and for expanding networks with central Alberta industry leaders.
A means to support central Alberta communities and youth in achieving journeyperson status.
Limited positions available.
Deadline for applications is January 31.
Apprenticeships will begin in April.
