CAREERS: Rebuilding Fort McMurray Creating Youth Futures campaign was prompted by the devastating wildfires in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in May/June 2016. This initiative is intended to ensure youth, young apprentices, and Aboriginal youth are considered in Rebuilding Fort McMurray. The campaign also supports youth and industry throughout Alberta by building tomorrow’s skilled workforce today!
“Working together to put young apprentices back to work in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo”
CAREERS: The Next Generation is proud to have been honoured as the recipient for the Community Initiative Partner of the Year Award at the Fort McMurray Public School Division’s Partners in Education reception.
We thank our partners for allowing us the opportunity to continue pursuing our mission. We are grateful to all the youth who have come through our program and those who we will continue to work with in the future. This video was created to celebrate our Indigenous Student Mentorship pilot program working to engage and support Indigenous youth to continue their education while gaining valuable experiential learning opportunities through paid internships and apprenticeships.
Students exploring internships in skilled trades may also be eligible to fast track their training through the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) Learn more.
