Internship Database
Administration and Records Support
Administration and record support interns assist administration and records with the information management systems in health facilities. Duties may include retrieving, storing, coding, or preserving paper, electronic, and other records organizations receive or generate.
Community Health Assistant
Community health assistants help with the administration and provision of information on how to live healthy lives. Common topics include nutrition, mental health, fitness, smoking, alcohol, and drugs. A health educator’s goal is to provide people with tools that allow them to avoid developing life-threatening health issues.
Dentistry Support
Dentistry support interns assist dentists, hygienists, and technologists as they engage in the dental care of clients. Support their duties from cleaning teeth to the creation and repair of dental appliances and devices such as crowns, bridges, dentures, and orthodontics.
Diagnostic Imaging Support
Diagnostic imaging support interns assist imaging department staff such as imaging technicians, office staff and physicians. They must be knowledgeable in imaging procedures, including safety protocols for patients and staff. Job duties can include patient preparation and transport, as well as administrative support functions such as updating patient records and scheduling appointments.
Emergency Responder Assistant
Emergency responder assistants help professionals with pre-hospital emergency medical care to the sick and injured.
General Health Support
General health support interns assist professionals in providing clients with proactive or reactive processes for increased health and wellness. These interns could be in a variety of settings where the maintenance or improvement of client health is required.
Health Care Aide
Health care aides provide personal help and support services for the elderly, disabled, acute or chronically ill. Some clients require short-term help. Others need ongoing support.
Materials and Facility Support
Materials and facility support interns assist the facilities team with upkeep of health care facilities through general maintenance and project. Duties may include ordering materials, doing inventory, painting, and repairing.
Medical Laboratory Support
Medical laboratory assistants perform various clerical and preparatory tasks to aid in generating patient test results.
Nutrition Support Intern
Nutrition support interns assist to keep food preparation areas sanitized and orderly to help prepare food for patients in assisted living or medical facilities. Duties may include helping plan weekly meals, preparing and chopping ingredients.
Optometry Support
Optometry support interns will schedule appointments, answer telephones, and assist the optometrist with vision acuity tests.
Patient Care
Patient care interns work with patients to assist with recreation activities or speech maintenance and improvement. This internship may also be involved in specialized clinics such as chiropractic or audiology.
Pharmacy Support
Pharmacy support interns typically perform all the administrative duties of the pharmacy. Their responsibilities include answering the telephone, handling money, stocking the shelves, as well as other clerical duties.
Rehabilitation Assistant Intern
Rehabilitation assistant interns, under the supervision of an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, the other type of therapist, work with clients to improve, develop, or maintain client’s abilities to function on their own.
